“Be bold in your pursuit of excellence”

Some experiences don’t just shape you—they call you to action. For Bernice, growing up in Trinidad & Tobago meant witnessing the intersection of climate vulnerability, waste mismanagement, and gender inequality. Like many Small Island Developing States (SIDS), her homeland faces rising sea levels, extreme weather, and mounting waste challenges. Yet amid these realities, Bernice saw something remarkable: resilience, ingenuity, and a hunger for change.
Fueled by this vision, Bernice journeyed to the University of Notre Dame, where she pursues a Business Analytics major with minors in Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. Her mission is clear—understand the systems driving social issues and use data-driven strategies to spark scalable, lasting impact.

Youth Parliamentarian
There are moments in one’s journey that change the course of their destiny, for Bernice, it was the historic Caribbean Women in Leadership, 1st all-women parliamentary sitting. While serving as the Minister of Labour and Enterprise, the principles of transformational leadership were being ingrained into her. From March 8th 2020, this YWIL parliamentarian made it her mandate to implement Emotional Intelligence, Transparency and Accountability in all of her projects. Today, Bernice Antoine continues to join young people in arms, as they operate at the forefront of their destinies, as she says ‘it’s time for the Caribbean to rise as architects of the future.’
